More info

the coat of arms of the Salimbeni, an ancient family of Siena, initially deployed on the side of the Ghibellines and a bitter enemy of the Tolomeis. Family of great political and economic importance in the Siena of the XIII and XIV centuries, it was enriched with the trade of wheat and spices in Maremma. The progenitor is considered a Giovanni lived in Vallerozzi in the thirteenth century, although some historians of the past descend the family from a legendary Salimbeni who participated in the first crusade in 1097.
