Ludovico Petroni was mayor of Buonconvento in the year 1451, as is implied by the inscription in the stone artifact of which we speak. Prior to this role, the same Ludovico, exercised his prestigious position of Senator of Rome in the year 1442 (this office he was re-assigned in the biennium 1460-1461). Those who held this important function was the honorary award of boast their own coat of arms with the addition of the "head of the Roman Empire" the Senate, or a band located in the upper part of the shield with the insignia of the City.
