These ancient artefacts were mainly used as Compluvium on the roof, at the confluence of two descending and converging pitches. Or even if more rarely as a ridge saddle of the gable roof.
Variable dimensions from 70 cm to over 1 m.
Weight fluctuating between 20 and 30 kg
They were used from the early Middle Ages until the last century in Tuscany and are still commonly found on ancient roofs in the provinces of Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia, Siena and Florence.
