Ancient cast iron slab, fireback representing St. George slaying the dragon - XVIII century
In the lower part, the myth of Diana and Actaeon: the young Actaeon, during a hunt, accidentally comes across the cave where Diana and her nymphs bathed. As soon as he becomes aware of his presence, the goddess, angry at the outrage suffered, sprinkles water on his face, transforming him into a deer. Actaeon runs away chased by his own dogs who, not recognizing him, tear him to pieces.
