Guido Frilli: "my favorite"

Gaius Pliny the Second, known as Pliny the Elder (Como, 23 AD - today's Castellammare di Stabia, 24 August 79 AD) was a writer, scientist, naturalist, scholar, acute observer and Roman historian, he loved to describe things live, live, a true chronicler of the time, he lost his life among the sulphurous exhalations of the volcanic eruption of Vesuvius, which destroyed Herculaneum and Pompeii, while trying to observe the volcanic phenomenon a little more closely.
