The vases were sculpted for King Louis XV by Jacob dit Jacques Verberckt (or Verbrecht) French sculptor, cabinetmaker and ornamentalist of Flemish origin born in Antwerp on February 24, 1704 and died on December 9, 1771. He reproduced two ancient Roman vases.
