The panel depicts a crab, Eriphia verrucosa (Forskål, 1775), is a decapod crustacean of the Eriphiidae family.
It is a common species in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the eastern Atlantic (from the Gulf of Vizcaya to Mauritania).
It lives predominantly between the rocky edges near the cost, sometimes pushing up to 10 m deep.
Our production panel.
The design was bought by us and is part of a series of color designs reproducing six Mediterranean crabs, they were made for a CNR identification guide, then never realized. The design was done on oil on schoeller paper, copied from the real, the animals just caught in Santa Margherita Ligure. Currently, the originals are part of a private collection.
