The dedication of body part votives is mainly confirmed in western central Italy (Southern Etruria, Latium, Campania). Since the late fourth century BCE, anatomical ex votos were the most common type of dedication in this region. Body part votives are attested in 130 of approximately 200 sanctuaries. The ex-votos of Italy are made of terracotta and are three-dimensional models of body parts. Arms/hands and legs/feet are the most numerous group.
