A rare J.L. Mott & Co. laurel-pattern seat, late 19th century.
A similar seat is illustred in the J.L. Mott Iron Works catalogue of 1889, plate 35. This is an adaptation of the laurel pattern that was made by the Coalbrookdale Company a few years earlier, although the design of the seat is slightly different. This seat has the marker's stamp on it, wich adds to its value.
