Decorated tile from the early 1800s, of Palermitan origin (Sicily), the ancient original always bore the "PALERMO" mark.
The surrounding leaves are attributable to the species Olea europaea Linnaeus, 1753 and are painted in copper (copper oxide).
The geometric black lines in the center of the tile are in manganese, only six leaves are in cobalt blue, the only concession to the strong colors is made up of 36 small ocher insertions. The bottom of the tile is in aluminum oxide (white).
