Raffaello Sanzio (Urbino, 28 March or 6 April 1483 - Rome, 6 April 1520) was an Italian painter and architect, one of the most famous of the Renaissance.

Considered one of the greatest artists of all time, his experience is considered profoundly innovative for the numerous iconic works and for the way in which these were produced, making use of a highly structured workshop composed of numerous professionals of the highest level and various disciplines. to which the master entrusted a large part of his work. Raphael's "manner" was of vital importance for the development of the artistic language of the centuries to come, both by emulation by his collaborators who carried on the language for decades throughout Europe collected in the school of mannerism, and by contrast through the rejection of the Raphaelesque work initiated by Caravaggio.
