The Grand Hotel Baglioni is a structure that is part of the history of Florence. The building that houses the hotel was built in the second half of 1800 by Prince Carrega di Lucedio. In the years following the prince’s move to Rome, the centrality of the building and its proximity to Santa Maria Novella station contributed to its transformation into a luxury hotel; the name Grand Hotel Baglioni comes from the conversion of the building at the hands of its namesake family.
