The original signed drawing for this seat in the Carron Foundry catalogue is numbered 34358. Both the Carron and the Falkirk foundries were located on the Firth of Forth one the east coast of Scotland, but they had warehousing and retailing premises close to each other in Upper Thames Street, London, to which iron goods were transported along the River Thames.
